    Description

    Your key responsibilities

  • Design strategy, concept design and the production of detailed working drawings, under the guidance of the project leader and others in the team.
  • Actively seek and share inspiration and reference from sources outside of the business to support creative design solutions.
  • Carry out research to illustrate a design direction to the clients, working with architects and graphic designers in the project team.
  • Produce basic concept work using hand sketches or variety of digital and traditional media to a high standard.
  • Produce, under supervision, drawing packages for schematic and detail design stages.
  • Assist in assembling presentations using a variety of digital and traditional media, particularly Adobe InDesign.
  • Source reference material and carry out research to ensure that materials and products are fit for purpose.
  • Build knowledge of markets, our clients and their competitors.
  • As directed, take responsibility for some basic project communication, including liaising with third parties and recording design team or site meetings either by minutes, letters, emails or file notes.

    • Your technical skills and experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or a design related discipline.
  • Ability to create a concept, from a brief, under direction.
  • Ability to think through design problems and have outstanding attention to detail.
  • Advanced software skills, including both 2D and 3D software capabilities: Adobe Creative Suite, Autocad, SketchUp or an alternative 3D package such as Rhino.
  • Revit skills highly advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate a basic knowledge of materials and their application.
  • Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to communicate to all levels both internally and externally.
  • Team player with collaborative work ethic.
  • Proactive and conscientious.
  • Forward thinking attitude and creative thinker with enthusiasm for learning and developing skills and a genuine interest in design.
