    Roles & Responsibilities

    Our client is a global independent trustee with a presence in more than 18 locations. They are seeking an Assistant Manager/Manager - Trust Administration in the Singapore branch.

    Main Responsibilities

    • To deal with the day-to-day administration of a varied and complex portfolio of trust and company structures, and to maintain a wide knowledge and understanding of company and trust administration generally, including money laundering, compliance, and relevant legislation.
    • Work closely with the Head of Trust Services and Business Development Director with the onboarding of new business within the Group.
    • To ensure tasks are completed to the highest possible standards, within the agreed timescales and that the objectives of the Group are fulfilled.
    • To nurture, develop, and grow the trust officers and senior trust officers in the team
    • To consider the views, development, and strengths of all team members before decision-making.
    • To develop close working relationships with relevant clients and contacts and to strengthen key relationships through regular contact. To seek to provide innovative and practical answers to client queries, being alert to both commercial concerns and technical accuracy. To ensure absolute compliance with KYC procedures to maintain knowledge of the client's business.
    • To ensure billing and debt collection is carried out effectively and on time.
    • To be alert to new business opportunities to maintain a broad general knowledge of issues affecting the offshore industry, and be able to apply this knowledge in developing new and existing business.
    • To attend marketing events and seminars organized by intermediaries, whenever appropriate and possible.
    • To support the company's strategy, demonstrating the ability to generate innovative operational ideas and constructively challenge the status quo.
    • And any other such duties that might be reasonably required for this role.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    • An enhanced level of technical knowledge to include more complex areas of trust & corporate products, investments, accounting and tax law, legislation, and regulation. This includes Discretionary Trust, Reserved Power Trust, Revocable/Irrevocable Trust, Private Trust Company (PTC), Employee Benefit Trust (EBT)/Employee Share Option Trust (ESOP) etc.
    • Relevant professional qualification (ACCA, ICSA, or STEP preferred) together with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the trust industry at the management level.
    • Excellent organizational and client management skills, together with full knowledge of current company and trust legislation, and the local regulatory environment. This includes a high level of awareness of risk factors and compliance procedures.
    • Professional manner with the ability to relate to persons at all levels, and to identify client's needs, responding to these quickly and effectively.
    • Excellent people management skills including a high level of integrity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
    • Good time management skills, together with a thorough understanding of client files. In addition, the post holder should have a strong appreciation of the importance of financial markets issues.
    • Good interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to attend after-hours functions where relevant.
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the company's strategy, procedures and policies, compliance, and technical issues to enable you to act as a role model for peer group and junior staff.
    • The ability to communicate in Mandarin with Chinese-speaking clients is preferred.
