    Your next exciting job opportunity:

    As a Marine Surveyor – Engineer , you will be responsible in dealing with the investigation into machinery and propulsion problems and rendering advice to principals. The work is extremely varied and makes demands on your intellectual and analytical capabilities as well as your knowledge in the field of maritime operations and shipping.

    In This Role You Will:

    1.Carry out a wide range of surveys for P&I Clubs and H&M underwriters related to machinery and propulsion problems using specialist knowledge and experience.

    2.Prepare relevant reports on types of surveys conducted, recommended actions and repairs, or conditions remedied.

    3.Assess or recommend the time and value of the work to be undertaken for an external client, assisting in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure.

    4.Ensure reports are prepared to a high quality within budget and contractual requirements.

    5.Submit reports to client within given timescale.

    6.Actively looking for new survey opportunities in order to grow the BMT market share in the region

    7.Support the regional BD team

    8.Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

    9.Ensure safety requirements are understood and adhered to at all times.

    10.Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.

    In addition to these duties, the post holder may be required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required, from time to time, to achieve the above role purpose

    In terms of location , you will be working in the Singapore Office located at Alexandra Road and we are happy to share that we are currently working on a hybrid model of working where employees enjoy the flexibility to choose to work in the office or from home. However, due to the nature of this role, please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required from time to time.

    About You

  • The role requires the ability to carry out a flexible work pattern around job requirements as well as the ability to travel and at short notice
  • Have sound marine, technical and engineering knowledge
  • Preferably sailing experience (at least) as a Second Engineer of ocean-going vessels and hold minimum Class 2 Motor Foreign-going Certificate of Competence
  • Preferably sailing experience on Containers and tankers – Oil and Gas (LPG or LNG)
  • Have sound knowledge of the various types of propulsion system – Gas and Steam turbines, Diesel and other non-conventional fuels.
  • Well versed in the operation and maintenance of various machinery items on an ocean-going vessel – generator, boiler, purifiers, heat exchangers, pumps etc.
  • Be a team player as well as being able to work autonomously
  • Have excellent written and spoken command knowledge in English
  • Be flexible (no nine-to-six mentality) and representative
