Description
Responsibilities:
- Prepares, produces, and bakes pastries, breads, rolls, and some desserts.
- Develops new products.
- Decorates baked goods, such as cream pies.
- Sets time and speed controls for mixing machines, or blending machines, so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions.
- Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration.
- Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Pastry Baker or relevant role
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
- Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
- Certificate in culinary arts, pastrymaking, baking or relevant field
- Able to work on weekends and public holiday
