Description

We are currently seeking an IT Developer with expertise in Magento to join our client's dynamic team. As an IT Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions for our clients' Magento-based websites. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and provide technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery.

The primary focus of this role will revolve around Magento, a specialized program that requires specific expertise. Candidates with a strong background in Magento will be given preference due to the specialized nature of the role. The successful candidate will play a vital role in Magento-related tasks, as well as managing other software systems like QuickBooks, Avalara Tax Software, Shipstation, Webship, and handling general IT issues with employee computers.

Job Responsibilities

Design and develop custom Magento modules and extensions to meet client requirements.
Oversee full-cycle Magento development, including theme implementation, front-end development, module development, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
Assist in developing technical specifications and documentation.
Integrate Magento with third-party systems, such as payment gateways, shipping providers, and ERP systems.
Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Perform Magento upgrades and security patches.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by clients or end-users.
Stay updated with the latest Magento trends, best practices, and tools.
Provide guidance and support to junior developers.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience working with Magento in a development role.
Strong proficiency in PHP programming and experience with object-oriented programming concepts.
Experience customizing and extending Magento functionality using modules and extensions.
Strong understanding of Magento architecture and data model.
Experience with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Familiarity with REST and SOAP web services.
Knowledge of MySQL and database design principles.
Experience with performance optimization and caching techniques.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Must be able to work from 7:30 AM to 4 PM Pacific Standard Time.

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with QuickBooks for seamless financial management.
Competence in utilizing Avalara Tax Software for efficient tax processing.
Experience with Shipstation and Webship for streamlined shipping operations.
Ability to address general IT issues related to employee computers.
Magento certification(s).
Experience with Magento Cloud and other hosting solutions.
Experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or React.

System Requirements

At least 15mbps for the main internet and at least 10mbps for backup
A desktop or laptop that has an i5 processor with at least 8 GB RAM and an i3 processor for backup

Note: Back-ups should still be able to function when there is a power interruption
