What the role is

  • The Rehabilitation and Protection Group (RPG) undertakes the statutory functions in the rehabilitation of adult and youth offenders, and the protection of children, families and vulnerable adults (VAs). Our mission is to empower individuals and families to break cycles of abuse, neglect and offending.

As part of the RPG family, the Adult Protective Service (APS) is a statutory service that leads in the policies and processes to safeguard the safety and well-being of individuals, families and vulnerable adults experiencing violence, abuse or neglect.


What you will be working on

  • Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will be part of a team responsible for overseeing family violence related programs such as the Mandatory Counselling Programme (MCP), Crisis Shelters (CS), and Crisis Placement Programme (CPP). This role will require you to work closely with MSF partners and community partners in the social service, medical and enforcement sectors.

As an Officer/ Senior Officer, you will:

  • Conduct preliminary risk assessment for family violence cases and refer cases to the MCP service providers.
  • Provide consultations on egregious, complex and/or challenging family violence cases under the MCP.
  • Work with stakeholders such as Family Justice Courts and MSF policy division to implement required changes to the MCP, when necessary (i.e. when there are legislative changes).
  • Work with the team to engage and implement a standardized family violence triage and risk assessment tools and intervention framework for the professionals involved in family violence work including MCP service providers.
  • Coordinating staff and internal resources which includes leading and being part of a secretariat team for workgroups.
  • Any other duties specified by the Assistant Director, Deputy Director or Director.

What we are looking for

  • Technical/Functional Competencies:
  • Tertiary qualification from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience in the social service sector is an advantage

  • Good interpersonal skills and comfortable in engaging external partners across Ministries and in the community
