Welding Engineer

Our client's principal activities are to provide Clients with Full Turn Key Project Management. This includes engineering, project management through the pre-construction planning, critical path development, construction / fabrication / site management, commissioning and hand over. It has executed a wide range of major projects involving Marine FPSO Conversion/Process Module Construction related to Oil and Gas Industry, Sub-Sea Products, Semi-Submersibles, Repair of Oil Rigs, Pharmaceutical Process Packages and Power Generation Facilities since its foundation in 1990. Job Descriptions

Responsibilities

· Responsible to qualify and approve the WPS, PQR, WQT of materials like CS, LTCS, HYCS, DSS, SDSS, CuNi, Inconel, SS, Overlayed pipes.

· Preparation of welding related procedures for projects and support ISO 3834 welding management system implementation and certification.

· Ensure Welding consumable control system is in place and followed up during issue, usage at site.

· Identify and develop the WPS for the project based on Construction codes and project specifications.

· Establish welding sequence for the structure to minimize of control the distortion.

· Co-ordinate with Client and Classification body on welding related issues at site on day to day basis.

· To ensure regular updating and release of the Qualification welder list for module specific for the project

· Monitor calibration of Welding equipment and other measuring instrument used for inspection of welding

· Perform surveillance inspections related to following WPS requirements at site.

· Responsible to trouble shoot the problems related to Welding.

· Establish welding sequence for critical structure to minimize / control distortion.

· Prepare and conduct Project Specific Inductions/workshops/tool/box talk about welding control requirements.

· Welding defect analysis and implementation of correction and corrective actions.

· Coordinate with production team on corrective measures related to welding issues

· Propose improvements in welding process, products etc.,

· Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirement

· A Diploma / Degree in Welding, Metallurgy, or Mechanical Engineering is essential.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferably in in Marine, Oil, and Gas.
AWS/ TWI Certified Welding Engineer
Good understanding of API and ISO standards would be advantageous.
International Welding Engineer (IWE) certification will be advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Good knowledge in Welding Process
Knowledge of metallurgy, welding processes
Knowledge in Non-Destructive Testing requirements (RT, UT, LPT, MPT, & ET)
Familiar with Class Rules, Codes, National and International Standards
Familiar with SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, SAW, & GTAW welding processes
Familiar with CS, SS, Cu Ni, Duplex, Super Duplex, and Titanium material specifications
Able to prepare Quality Assurance Plans and Procedures, Quality Management System, and Quality System Audits
Able to board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights.
Good in planning, organising, interpersonal skills and able to work independently

Job Related Information

· Permanent - 5.5 days' work week | Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 8am-12pm

· Office Location: Gul Road| Western part of Singapore

Salary & Benefits

Monthly Basic Salary will be based on skills and exp.
OT pay entitlement: OT Flat rate S$8/- per hour
