Desktop support technicians are primarily responsible for fixing and maintaining client's desktop computing environments.They also provide remote assistance through the telephone and Internet to guide end
- users who need to troubleshoot their computers.
Common duties of desktop support technicians include setting up accounts, repairing or replacing faulty hardware, and assist in infrastructure issues.
- Higher NITEC/ Diploma in Computer Science or related disciplines
- Typically, 2 years deployment and support experience for Windowsbased environments.
- Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architecture is preferred but not essential
- Working knowledge of Server and PC operating systems such as Windows 2008 and 2012, PC operating systems such as Windows 7, 8 and 10.
- Working knowledge PC hardware and components
- Good interpersonal skills, able to interact well with workers and positively influence them.
- Good documentation and case follow up initiatives.
- May be required to work flexibly on occasions outside normal working hours, ensuring that services are not disrupted by technical maintenance.
