Job Description

The Integration Engineer with API Expertise plays a vital role in the Supply Chain and Logistics sector, specializing in designing and implementing API-based integration solutions using Boomi IPAAS. This position demands a thorough understanding of API technologies, coupled with proficiency in Boomi, to enable smooth data exchange and process optimization across different systems.

Internally, Boomi iPAAS is a key component of SingPost Integration Platform called SPNet.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering:

Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp integration requirements, focusing on API-based solutions.
Analyze business processes and data flows to identify API integration points and technical requirements.

Technical Design:

Develop technical designs for API-based integration solutions within Boomi IPAAS, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices.
Define API specifications, including endpoints, request/response formats, and authentication mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with internal SingPost standards for architecture and design as guided by the SPNet Platform Owner.

Documentation:

Prepare thorough technical documentation for API integrations, covering API specifications and integration architecture.
Maintain documentation throughout the integration lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

API Development:

Implement API-based integration solutions within the Boomi IPAAS platform, following design specifications and industry standards.
Develop custom APIs, configure connectors, and design API workflows to facilitate seamless data exchange.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

Conduct unit testing to validate developed integrations, such as API functionality, and ensure data accuracy.
Collaborate with testing teams to conduct integration tests and address any identified issues.

Deployment and Support:

Assist in integration deployments, including go-live activities and hypercare support for API-based solutions.
Provide continuous support and maintenance for API integrations, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues promptly.
This role involves interacting with support to address incidents as L2/L3 support.
This role requires approximately 80% hands-on involvement in working with users to develop mapping specifications and all necessary integrations within Boomi iPAAS.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay informed about API technologies and emerging trends related to integration and IPAAS solutions.
Identify opportunities for process enhancement and optimization in the API integration landscape.
This position will collaborate closely with the Integration Platform Owner to offer expert advice on integration platform architecture and complex integration requirements.

Project Management:

Take charge of integration projects, effectively managing timelines, resources, and deliverables.
Implement project management best practices to streamline processes and ensure successful project completion.
Keep stakeholders informed on project status, risks, and milestones to ensure alignment with business goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years' experience in enterprise system integration and engineering in an MNC with the ability to influence vendors to adhere to company specifications for extensive integration projects.
Prior experience working with Boomi IPAAS and strong expertise in API integration.
Proficiency in programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or similar.
Deep understanding of API technologies, including RESTful APIs, SOAP APIs, and API authentication mechanisms.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical mindset focused on problem-solving and attention to detail.
Experience in the Supply Chain and Logistics industry is preferred but not mandatory.
Background in a large IT department integrating customer-facing and internal enterprise systems.
Preferably, experience in Logistics companies with working knowledge of WMS.
Relevant certifications in API technologies or Boomi IPAAS are advantageous.
Familiarity with GWS and Google Cloud software.
