    Description

    Role:

    • Support the day-to-day maintenance management of electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic or electro-pneumatic/automation systems for Fleet vessels.
    • Review the planned maintenance schedule for various systems and submit it to the technical manager.
    • Guide onboard engineers in tasks requiring electrical engineering competencies, ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of relevant systems.
    • Attend and assist fleet vessels in managing equipment failures, conducting fault diagnosis, and resolving issues.
    • Advise the Technical Superintendent on the need for shore assistance or spare parts procurement for unresolved equipment defects.
    • Conduct on-board attendance in collaboration with Technical Superintendents.
    • Submit weekly work reports to the technical manager detailing the fleet vessels attended.
    • Identify areas for improvement in electro/automation systems and make systematic recommendations for enhanced vessel operation.
    • Contribute to knowledge transfer and learning across fleets for increased efficiency.
    • Provide input to Technical Superintendent for dry docking planning related to defects and electrical repair specifications.
    • Assist in incident investigations related to electrical matters.
    • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.

    Requirements:

    • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working onboard sea-going vessels as an Electrical-Technical Officer (ETO) in compliance with STCW Standard of competencies.
    • Strong background in oil, gas, or chemical tankers or offshore support vessels is an added advantage.
    • Good academic qualifications in tertiary education in Electrical, Electronic, or Electrical Engineering Technology are preferred.
    • Possess solid knowledge of electrical power distribution, maintenance, and practical hands-on skills.
    • Proficient in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills related to electrical, instrumentation, automation & control, and HVAC systems.
    • Familiarity with regulatory and legislative environments in the shipping industry.
    • A team player who collaborates effectively with both office technical teams and shipboard teams.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Basic proficiency in using Outlook for email communication, MS Word for report writing, and basic Excel spreadsheet usage.
