    Job Description


    The primary purpose of this role is to manage the development and accomplishment of strategies, goals, growth, service and producer relations for the Industry Practices business within the Asia with a primary focus on the Manufacturing and Technology Industry Practice.


    MAJOR DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Achievement of the applicable Premium and Combined ratio target
    • Ensure the application of Industry Practice Underwriting Standards across Asia
    • Work with Country P&C, Industry Practice managers and line of business stakeholders across Asia on the roll out and build of Industry Practices underwriting teams and local capability
    • Delivering Chubb guideline, Underwriting directive, intention, strategy to all Asian countries with clarity in timely manner to be fully implemented.
    • Actively support country underwriters to enhance UW capability and drive NB further especially in all portfolio segments
    • Manage and hold responsibility for development of new products, coverage enhancements, including legal approval, actuarial support, product design and execution of the product strategy including marketing and communications strategies
    • Referral contact point on all respective Asian Industry Practice referrals. Support and guide the underwriter for all Industry Practice programs
    • Conduct training programs to perpetuate the knowledge and skills of the Industry Practice product areas.
    • Contribute to ongoing authority review and development of the applicable underwriters
    • Responsible for multiple UW metrics. Manage and periodic check and update in terms of applicable industry practice data. Including submission/quote to submission ratios/ rate change and retention etc
    • Champion new products and initiatives which impact our business results and meet with specialist producers and key clients
    • Research and evaluate current market trends and future potential for Chubb products and where opportunities exist produce a feasibility study which will include, carrying out the necessary research to enable quality products to be brought into Asia market
    • Consult with regional IP Managers, LOB product managers and head office on risks exceeding delegated authority
    • Delivering product and capability presentations internally and externally to brokers, clients and at industry seminars
    • Provide regular reports to Head of Industry Practices on management of portfolio growth and profitability.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Complete understanding of Chubb underwriting philosophy, marketing strategy and underwriting appetite and issues across the Industry Practices businesses
    • Expert in underwriting casualty, professional indemnity and cyber business
    • Competent in underwriting with the use of exclusions, layered programs, pricing and wordings
    • Knowledge of systems/reports and how IT applications can be utilised
    • Knowledge of treaty, fac reinsurance how they are set up and how they implement and affect the business
    • Able to effectively impart technical skills by acting as an instructor in internal and external training programs
    • Good communication skills to work with internally and externally
