    We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced talent to join our Asia team as Regional Compliance Counsel, Greater Asia.

    Your Focus
    As Regional Compliance Counsel, you will support IFF's Compliance Program including management of compliance investigations in Greater Asia and play an active role, in the support of key compliance initiatives both regionally and globally.

    The is a Singapore based position and will report into the Global Compliance Counsel.

    How You Will Contribute
    From a regional perspective the role will lead and manage two key areas as follow:
    1. IFF's SpeakUp Compliance Hotline:

    • Review all SpeakUp reports in the region to identify emerging trends and create and implement relevant risk mitigation plans.
    • Conduct or oversee internal investigations for the region from intake to closure.
    • Advise on and, where appropriate, manage remediation efforts resulting from compliance-related investigations.
    • Train colleagues in supporting departments on how to properly handle compliance reports and investigations.

    2. IFF's ethics and compliance program:

    • Implement priority initiatives.
    • Develop, update, implement and communicate on compliance-related policies.
    • Develop, update and conduct live and online compliance training.
    • Conduct regular compliance-related risk assessments and develop and implement responsive action plans.
    • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders throughout the organization, helping them navigate complex compliance challenges and make informed decisions.
    • Utilize data analytics to spot (I) emerging issues and trends, (II) define process improvements and (III) help with training initiatives related to ethics and compliance.

    What you will need to be successful

    • Bachelor of Laws or equivalent from a reputable institute.
    • Over 8-10 years of in-house counsel proven track record. A combination of corporate in-house counsel and top-tier law firm experience from international organization would be a plus.
    • Experience investigating complex compliance matters is required.
    • Hands-on attorney who is able to operate autonomously, yet effectively collaborate across a matrixed organization.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment effectively.
    • Ability to draft and implement key corporate policies and procedures to empower and enable employees to achieve business objectives in a compliant manner.
    • Tech savvy with excellent presentation skills.
    • Strong knowledge of legal requirements and best practices related to anti-bribery and corruption and other compliance topics.
    • Fluency in both English and Chinese language. Fluency in Chinese language is required due to the scope and geography coverage.
    • Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
    • Ability to quickly grasp issues, make the right analysis and develop risk calibrated alternatives before taking action.
    • Time management, organizational skills necessary to independently manage and appropriately prioritize case load to meet deadlines or goals.
    • Self-motivation and team working is key and so is critical attention to details.
    • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region as necessary.
