_**- To ensure that they have senior design resources within the business who are capable of handling a variety of projects within the team structure and who can be client-facing.

The Senior Designer's role is to produce exceptional design solutions, which are their best possible response to a brief, thus meeting the needs of their clients in a way that exceeds the client's expectations and fulfills the high creative standards of their business.

The overall aim is to ensure that the company remains a leader in its field.

To ensure that they have Senior Designer resources capable of 'bringing on' junior members of the team and being a mentor.


What the job covers:


  • The quality of strategic design thinking on your projects; is insightful, confident, inspirational, intuitive and delivered in a unique way.
  • The financial efficiency of your projects in liaison with the Design Directors & Creative Director.
  • Act as a Deputy to the Design Director and provide total support to him/her, showing real leadership to the team as and when required.
  • Informal mentoring on creative, process, or personal issues for one or more members of the team at the request of the Design Director or Creative Director.

_**- Senior Designers report directly to the Executive Creative Director or delegate


Responsibilities & Tasks

_ Creative_

  • To have ownership of all your projects and bring strategic creative understanding to bear on them, ensuring that the client's needs are understood, met, and wherever possible exceeded, leading to the growth of our business through the development of longterm relationships with our clients.
  • To work with the Client Director/ Manager and Design Director to ensure that the creative brief is challenged and challenging and provides the design team with a clear and inspirational direction for the work.
  • To provide direction for more junior members of the team on the project as it progresses through the various stages ensuring that all work presented is brief and in line with the company's values insightful, confident, inspirational, and intuitive and delivered in a unique way.
  • To ensure that our work at all stages of the process meets or exceeds the client's objectives where possible acting as a true consultant rather than a reactive supplier challenging and interpreting feedback wherever appropriate in an intelligent, informed way.
  • To ensure that work is presented to our clients professionally and with conviction, supported by a clear rationale and recommendation
  • Together with the Design Director, to decide on the most appropriate process and way of working for the project.
  • It is the responsibility of the Senior Designer to ensure that all their creative work is approved by the Design Director and/or Creative Director before being submitted to the client.
  • Ensure that your projects follow company procedures on archiving (digital and hard copy job files), backup and purchasing. Champion these procedures with more junior members of the team, especially your allocated 'mentee'.
  • To lead the presentation of creative work and attend project briefings and meetings where necessary.

Financial Management_**- Provide input to the Client Director/Manager and Design/Creative Director to enable them to establish realistic budgets and timescales at the outset of the project/ phase of work.


  • Be responsible for the efficient management of the design budget for all your projects at all stages including artwork and production.
  • Report to the Design/Creative Director on the status of your projects prior to the weekly financial meetings between Creative Director and the Managing Director. Attend these meetings in the absence of the Creative Director or at other times as requested to discuss the detail of your projects.

Communication/Interpersonal_**- To ensure that good communication channels are maintained between you and the Creative Director, Design Director, your allocated 'mentee', Operations Director/Manager, the client management and production teams; for our business to operate successfully intercompany relationships must be open, honest, and based on mutual respect.
