Roles & Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Technician/Senior Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all M&E services and building works. He will be required to be specializing in areas consist of plumbing, masonry, electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, carpentry or other areas of maintenance work.

This role reports directly to the Chief Engineer/ Assistant Chief Engineer/ Duty Engineer/ Maintenance Supervisor

• Carry out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all plumbing and sanitary systems of the Hotel to ensure that there is no chokage/ blockage in the plumbing and sanitary systems.
• Operate and carry out preventive / breakdown maintenance on all mechanical equipment such as air conditioning system, freezer, refrigerators, pumps, coolers, ice-makers and other refrigeration equipment.
• To operate and carry out preventive maintenance and repairs of all electrical installations and equipment such as generator, fire protection system (including emergency lighting), internal and external lighting, etc. at the hotel – including preventive maintenance for all 542 guestrooms, cycle based on Department Goals.
• Able to carry out M&E installation and repair work
• Able to trouble-shooting building defect and request
• Construct and repair furniture such as cabinet, cupboard, table, chairs, doors and props.
• To place order for materials, fittings and tools according to specifications needed for carpentry. Coordinate with Engineering administrator.
• Carry out painting, polishing, varnish furniture and ensure that they are well varnished. To maintain constant checking of plant operation.
• To ensure standard of operation, safety and housekeeping are up to standard.
• Assist in energy conservation programme and participate in fire-fighting and safety exercise.
• To know the procedures of firefighting.
• To minimize energy wastage.
• To carry out any other duties when directed by the Superior.

Job requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Nitec in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services or equivalent.
• Preferably with minimum 1-2 years of experience in Engineering related industries for Technician.
• Preferably with minimum 2 years or more of experience in Engineering related industries for Senior Technician.
• Possess skills in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing of building equipment
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Willingness to learn and work as a team member
• Possess high level of integrity and respect for others
