Description
Roles & ResponsibilitiesThis position focuses on providing local and global support for back-end infrastructure, including server and storage hardware, operating systems, system applications, networking, and cybersecurity. The primary objective is to ensure 99.95% uptime availability and accountability for all company assets within the data center environment, from acquisition and operation to optimization and disposal.
The role is centered around ensuring the uptime and optimization of hardware and software components, such as servers, storage devices, networking equipment, software systems, cabling infrastructure, backup power systems, and cybersecurity measures within a server room environment. Key success factors include deep product knowledge, optimizing asset performance (hardware, software, and cabling), change management, vendor management, project management, and system design. Elevating the department's profile will involve adopting a "Customer First and No-surprises" culture, demonstrated through meeting performance KPIs.
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer is expected to stay updated on the latest technologies that could benefit the organization, make recommendations supported by documentation and costing, and present these to the business. They will work under the direction of the Infrastructure Manager and support all ICT projects related to technical upgrades, maintenance, or asset disposals within this environment.
