    Job Description:

    The role of a Shop Assistant involves providing support to customers and ensuring the smooth operation of a retail store. Shop Assistants typically perform various tasks, including assisting customers with inquiries, restocking merchandise, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store, and processing transactions. They play a crucial role in creating a positive shopping experience for customers and promoting customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Customer Service:Greet customers and provide assistance with their inquiries.
      Offer product recommendations and information to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
      Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
    2. Merchandising and Inventory Management:Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise on shelves and displays.
      Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts as needed.
      Ensure products are properly labeled and priced.
    3. Store Maintenance:Maintain cleanliness and tidiness throughout the store, including organizing displays and cleaning shelves and counters.
      Perform routine maintenance tasks such as dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
      Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    4. Cash Handling and Transaction Processing:Operate cash registers and process sales transactions accurately.
      Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, and provide customers with receipts.
      Balance cash registers at the end of each shift.
    5. Assist with Promotions and Sales Events:Assist in setting up promotional displays and signage.
      Inform customers about ongoing promotions and special offers.
      Actively participate in sales events to maximize sales opportunities.

    Requirements:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
    2. Previous experience in retail or customer service preferred but not required.
    3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    4. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
    6. Basic math skills and proficiency in using cash registers and POS systems.
    7. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in cash handling and transaction processing.
    8. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    9. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy merchandise as needed.
