    JOB SUMMARY

    An IT Executive plays a vital role by ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance and integration of all operation of property based technological systems in alignment with business needs. Scope includes, but is not limited to, the local area network, associated peripherals, cabling, operating and application software, telecom systems, WAN and ISP connections, point of sale systems and to an extent, In-room systems. The IT Executive adheres to, Marriott International I.R (Information Resources) Systems and Telecom strategies and standards and complies with the Marriott International Information Protection Awareness Policy. The IT Executive takes responsibility of the overall systems operations of the property in the absence of Systems Manager.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Provide direct assistance to hotel guest on internet connectivity
    2. Optimal technology powering Asia Pacific favourite travel company by communicating with our guests and understanding/meeting their needs
    3. Maintains a reasonable understanding of property's business needs. Keep current knowledge of technology in line with business needs.
    4. Identifies, analyses, organizes and solves issues creatively, effectively and proactively.
    5. Ability to handle internal and external guest inquiries and requests with care, open communication and willingness to exceed customer's satisfactions.
    6. Provides user support to end users facing difficulties with software or hardware problems.
    7. Understand Marriott International IR technology standards, platforms and direction.
    8. Maintains a working understanding of technology trends, particularly in the hospitality / lodging industry as well as is aware of systems development methods and tools that are available.
    9. Able to assist in installation plans and processes.
    10. Provides user support to answer, or assist in the end users with their difficulties and/or malfunctions with hardware, operating systems and other applications.
    11. Perform systems log analysis, system performance analysis and installation of software for users.
    12. Monitors computer and network operations at the property performing onsite and offsite backup / recovery functions and maintaining disaster recovery plans. Complete routine checklists.
    13. Has read and understood applicable MI Corporate Policies and IR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other related material.
    14. Ensures routine maintenance of all computer equipment is performed.
    15. Schedule system rebooting of Servers, conduct periodic account maintenance and disk management for servers and selected computer workstations.
    16. Assists in establishing work requirements, schedules and project reviews.
    17. Ensure that projects assigned are completed according to plans and deadlines.
    18. Assists in the initial preparation of the departmental budget for eventual justifications and helps oversee expenditures.
    19. Experiences in network security. Maintains and updates all information pertaining to system security. Experience with host security (For example, passwords, file permissions, file system integrity, use of security packages).
    20. Accountable/Responsible for Marriott's Security Standards and PCI requirements in the Property.
    21. Minimizes business disruptions to eliminate inconveniences to our internal and external guest as well as to minimize costs.
    22. Performs maintenance that eliminates security risks to the property by setting appropriate local area network system access.
    23. Communicates to immediate Systems Manager when the responsible department (For example, Outlet Managers maintaining the POS system / Front Office updating rate codes, etc) has not performed system configuration and / or maintenance.
    24. Ensures security system access for all system applications be removed for resigned Associates.
    25. Assist in trouble shooting telecommunication problems. Keeps informed of development in the information and telecommunications fields.
    26. Ensure the setup / implementation of MI Systems standards and enhancements are followed.
    27. Adheres to, communicates and enforces IR policies and standards protecting company hardware, software and other resources at the hotel.
    28. Logs inventory of server and client computer workstations, peripherals, supplies and software (on the MI Intranet).
    29. Ensures solutions are consistent with business needs and Marriott's IR policies and environment.
    30. Attends local conventions and participates in at least one off-site technical training course.
    31. Position required 24x7x365 (cell phone) coverage.
    32. Perform all other duties assigned by the Department Head.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • At least a Higher Nitec education in Information Technology skills.
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with hotel IT background.
    • Ability to multi-task effectively while setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
    • Able to work with Microsoft programs, Marriott programs, and any other software programs (e.g. Micros, Opera, etc).
    • Customer-oriented, pleasant and outgoing personality.
    • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting & resolving problems around PCs, operating systems, servers, peripherals, etc.
    • Able to start work within short notice period.
