    Roles & Responsibilities

    Hardware Engineer Job Description Responsibilities

    1. Conducting research and feasibility studies to determine the technical and economic viability of proposed hardware designs.
    2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, and product designers, to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
    3. Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test plans.
    4. Troubleshooting and resolving hardware-related issues and providing technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
    5. Keeping up to date with industry trends and advancements in hardware engineering and incorporating them into the design process.
    6. Planning and carrying out scheduled maintenance.
    7. Responding to emergencies.
    8. Diagnosing faults.
    9. Repairing equipment and testing repairs.
    10. Supervising contractors, and engineering and technical staff.
    11. Ordering specialist components, fixtures or fittings required for hardware systems.
    12. Creating maintenance procedures.
    13. Leading maintenance activities for hardware systems.

    Hardware Engineer Job Description Required Skills

    1. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    2. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
    3. Customer oriented mindset. Able to perform service recovery where there are escalations.
    4. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

    Required Qualifications

    1. Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    2. Proven experience in hardware design and development.
    3. Experience with product lifecycle management, from concept development to production will be an advantage.
    4. Certification or training in hardware design and development is a plus.
