The Opportunity


We have a new and exciting in house opportunity for a senior financial regulatory, fintech lawyer in Singapore. We have been appointed as the exclusive recruiter for this role.

Our client is an exciting fintech start-up founded by industry veterans with high calibre experience in the finance world.

You will be part of the leadership team of an exciting technology start-up operating in blockchain and digital assets. This will be an appealing opportunity for a finance lawyer looking to be at the forefront of developments in the digital economy, working alongside with top calibre and experienced professionals with demonstrated success in finance, crypto and technology.

Responsibilities:


  • Act as a primary legal advisor to the Board of Directors on all legal and regulatory matters.
  • Provide legal support for all aspects of the client's business which will be launching a number of DeFI related projects.
  • Review, draft and negotiate documentation with respect to the launch of new DeFi products, the review and/or preparation of partnership agreements, loan documents, term sheets, nondisclosure agreements, engagement letters and other related documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage outside counsel, including management of legal costs; maintain relationships with outside counsel and oversee the internal approval of all legal counsels.
  • Be a key point of contact for discussions and other dealing with financial regulators in the region.

Qualifications:


  • Law degree (or equivalent) and minimum 5 years postqualification experience in a major international law firm or toptier Singapore firm. Additional inhouse experience at a financial institution is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience of dealing with financial regulators, particularly in Singapore.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal team, clients, counterparties and external counsels.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced startup environment that is looking to launch new projects and grow its team regionally.
  • Ability to skilfully manage and prioritize multiple internal and external client demands, transactions and projects.
  • Exemplary analytical, creative, problemsolving, decisionmaking, interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and commercial instincts.
  • Interest in and willingness to work on a team and independently on a broad range of legal matters/topics, some of which may be new issues.
  • Keen interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain ecosystem.
