Position Overview

Join Tencent Cloud as a Tcaplus Database Operations Engineer and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of Tencent Cloud's Tcaplus game databases. In this role, you'll be responsible for various daily maintenance tasks, including server deployment, equipment migration, configuration management, version upgrades, scaling, backups, and data migration. Additionally, you'll monitor database clusters, respond to alerts and incidents, and conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting of database issues.

Responsibilities

Handle daily maintenance tasks for Tencent Cloud's Tcaplus game databases, including server deployment, equipment migration, configuration management, version upgrades, scaling, backups, and data migration.

Monitor Tcaplus database clusters, respond to alerts and incidents, and conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting of database issues.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related fields.

Over 3 years of experience in database or data storage system-related work (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.), proficient in basic principles of one of these databases, and familiar with common operational tasks such as configuration, scaling, upgrades, backups, and recovery. Experience with cloud-based distributed database operations is preferred.

Proficiency in Linux operating system, including common commands, file systems, system configurations, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and extensive experience in handling real-world problems.

Proficient in database performance optimization techniques, with the ability to identify performance bottlenecks across the entire stack (network, CPU, IO, operating system, etc.), and drive solutions to address them.

Familiarity with scripting languages such as shell, Python, with proficiency in at least one programming language.

Strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication and teamwork skills, proactive thinking, self-drive, keen risk awareness, and risk identification abilities.

Good documentation skills, with the ability to produce technical documents and database operation plans promptly and effectively.

Excellent language proficiency in English and Chinese Mandarin in order to liaise with China-based stakeholders and manage various cross-country tools and documents in the said languages.
