THE ROLE:
Carry out post trade contract activities and day-to-day execution of either container and/or bulk physical contracts concluded by the regional and local trading team.
Acknowledgment of nomination to buyer and sending it on to shipper ensuring shipper acceptance of nomination.
Issue documentary instructions to shipper for timely preparation of shipping documents and follow up on draft documents for checking.
Create shipment number in system
Ensure all drafts are checked and confirmed by buyer and passing on to shipper. Follow up on scanned signed documents and original documents.
Instruct / Appoint cargo surveyors at loading and discharging port(s).
Create sale invoice and upload all shipping documents in system
Ensure payments from buyers are made in time before shipments arrive at destination.
Manage the payment of suppliers, freight invoices and any other costs.
Ensure all information like Dem/Des, documentary instruction or LCs (if required) are in place before loading.
Prepare & maintain shipment documents in in-house system and any hard copies if required.
Arrange local or overseas courier to send out original documents.
Handle customer's requests relating to QA documentation
Follow up on customers' claims and other shipment related disputes working closely with traders for a resolution
Join weekly execution calls with Singapore and/or regional teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Business / Maritime / related disciplines
3 to 5 years of experience in international import-export trade and shipping logistics i.e., container shipments and / or bulk shipments experience.
Established in negotiating documents basis CAD, Bank Documentary Collection, and Documentary Letters of Credit.Fast learner and able to work under pressure and deadlines
Ability to act with integrity when dealing with confidential matters
Team player with strong work ethics, communication & organisational skills
Experience in RSA / SAOL / Sugar No. 11 rules and regulation and Incoterms will an added advantage
Experience in Letter of Credits negotiation and UCP, ISBP rules.
