Job Overview

The person is responsible for providing legal advice to the senior leadership of Stamford Land Corporation Ltd and Singapore Shipping Corporation Limited, both listed on SGX, and is expected to lead, guide and manage a team of legal professionals, delivering such advice on all legal matters within the respective Groups.

Duties and Responsibilities

Providing comprehensive and practical advise on all transactional and legal matters across the Groups.
Responsible for the management and the successful execution of all transactional matters across the Group.
Negotiating, reviewing and drafting a broad range of contracts and other legal documents.
Managing external lawyers on development projects and major transactions.
Managing all litigation and dispute resolution matters.
Assisting the Groups keep abreast of legal, compliance and regulatory developments in the markets and businesses that the businesses are operating in and ensures policies and frameworks stay robust and relevant.

Requirements:

A recognized law degree with at least 8 years PQE. Real estate, hospitality and litigation experience would be an added advantage.
Called to the Singapore bar or any common law jurisdiction.
Experience in managing a team of legal and corporate secretariat professionals
Working knowledge of the SGX rules and corporate governance matters.
Strategic thinkers and active problem solvers.
Committed and meticulous.
Commercially savvy.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
