Roles & Responsibilities

As a Technology Research Scientist at our Technology Center of Excellence (Tech COE), you will play a pivotal role in identifying and exploring emerging technologies that can drive innovation and competitive advantage across our two key market geographies. Working under the direction of the Chief Scientist and in collaboration with your team, you will contribute to all phases of the SEED strategy—Scan, Experiment, Engage, and Develop. Your work will help shape the future of our technology initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with market needs and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scan for Emerging Technologies:

− Conduct comprehensive market and academic research to identify emerging technologies with potential applications in our target geographies.

− Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of technological advancements, industry trends, and competitive landscape.

− Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and validate findings.

• Experiment with Technologies:

− Design and execute proof-of-concept projects to assess the viability and potential impact of new technologies on our business operations and offerings.

− Work closely with the innovation and product development teams to prototype solutions and assess their feasibility.

− Analyze and document experiment results, providing clear recommendations for next steps.

• Engage Active Creators and Adopters:

− Build and maintain relationships with key players in the technology ecosystem, including startups, academic institutions, and research labs.

− Participate in technology forums, workshops, and conferences to network with technology creators and early adopters.

− Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions within the company to spread awareness and understanding of new technologies.

• Develop and Communicate Unique Perspectives:

− Synthesize research findings and experiment outcomes to develop insights into how emerging technologies can be harnessed for our specific market needs.

− Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate technological insights into actionable business strategies.

− Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting potential opportunities and recommending strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience in technology research, product development, or a similar role.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for identifying trends and opportunities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Willingness to continuously learn and stay abreast of the latest technological innovations.
