JOB SUMMARY


The Manager, Media Planning and Activation, APEC (Asia Pacific excluding China) will be responsible for supporting Marriott's full funnel media strategy (off-line + online) across all media channels in the APEC region.

This person will help to manage our media budgets, to deliver against Marriott's core media objectives - growing our Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program and card partnerships, building brand preference for our hotel brands, and driving room bookings and F&B reservations.

They will be responsible for setting up the processes to track and manage agency outputs in-line with the agreed scope of works.

They will also have oversight of our strategic Media Partnerships with media vendors and tech partners, to ensure maximum efficiency and value is driven from our investments.


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Media Planning and Performance, APEC, this role will support APEC Consumer Ops teams across Media, Loyalty, Area Marketing, and Brand, to deliver on business goals.

They will also coordinate with our Global Media Team & Partners, to share and implement learnings, initiatives, and best practices.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience


5-8 years of integrated APAC experience; managing agency and partner relationships or working in a client facing role within a media agency.


Requirements on the Job

  • Proficiency in managing strategic agency, partner, and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to review and optimize complex mediarelated processes, to create efficiencies and extract maximum value from investments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the confidence to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Experience in supporting and working with crossfunctional teams, in support of specific business priorities.
  • Proven ability to take complex projects and initiatives from conception to successful execution.
  • A strategic problem solver who can think creatively, and satisfy speedtomarket requirements.
  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and push back when necessary.
  • Comfortable working with associates/ vendors/ customers in remote locations and international markets (multiple time zones).
  • Deep knowledge media platforms / channels / strategies across key APEC markets.
  • Great communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in: reading, interpreting and presenting media reports.
  • Experience working and managing with finance and legal teams on invoicing and contracts.
  • Detail orientated with strong excel and PowerPoint skills.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies
Agency Management

Be a key POC for the Media agency (M1M), across all campaigns, projects, teams, and ad hoc matters.

  • Supporting key meetings for M1M & Marriott, noting required actions and next steps.
  • Manage the SOW between M1M & Marriott, through granular tracking across campaigns, results, FTE hours and timelines.
  • Drive new agency initiatives such as media innovation, competitor insights and industry / vendor updates.
  • Coordinate quarterly Media reviews to ensure the team is on track in terms of spend, pacing, against 2023 budget.
  • Develop tracking cadence for invoices / POs and financial reconciliation including rebates, credits and accruals.
  • Lead competitor reviews for APEC (Twice yearly, 4 x markets competitor reviews are in scope).
  • Support on troubleshooting, managing challenges and ad hoc projects.
Partner Management

  • Management of JBP partnerships including but not limited to: Meta, Google and DoubleVerify.
  • Proactively meet new partners, and look for opportunities to drive innovation.
  • Work with vendors to put together presentations to show case offerings to the wider business / teams.
  • Leanin when there are issues with deliverables or service levels.
  • Support on sponsorship partnerships as and when needed.
  • Work hand in hand with Marriott's legal team for any new contract or partnerships.
