    Objectives of the Position

    • Responsible to Maintain and implement existing EHS management system (Responsible Care management system with all RC code, ISO14001, ISO45001), develop approach/ tools to ensure compliance with legal and BASF requirement and ensure implementation.
    • Performs day-to-day consolidated functional EHS tasks.
    • Conducting safety audit or inspection to ensure work practice comply with company and legal requirements.
    • Be the Fire Safety Manager for the workplace.
    • Be the responsible person for security and information protection. Advise and assist the site management on all.
    • security and information protection (non-IT) related issues.

    Main Tasks:

    EHS Management System

    • Responsible to Maintain and implement existing EHS management system (Responsible Care management system with all RC code, ISO14001, ISO45001), develop approach/ tools to ensure compliance with legal and BASF requirement and ensure implementation.
    • Support to investigates accidents / incidents / dangerous occurrences and recommend remedial measures to prevent any recurrences.
    • Advise risk assessment for all departments.
    • Support EHS review for new projects and plant safety concept.
    • Initiate and organize safety promotional activities such as Global Safety Day and Global Health Campaign.
    • Coordinate EHS statistics, analysis and reports
    • Any other duties and responsibility as assigned.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Represents BASF and interfaces with local industry groups on behalf of BASF sites for issue management and advocacy.
    • Contributes to the implementation and maintenance of good teamwork.

    Legal and BASF compliance

    • Maintains database on all applicable EHS laws and regulations.
    • Gap analysis and implementation for new requirement and other WSH requirements.
    • Be the responsible person for EHS related license and permit.
    • Implement procedures to comply with BASF requirements. Interpreting the 'What' and introduce the 'How' at the site.

    Management Plans and Programs

    • Coordinate REHESA reports for site data
    • Communicates incident flashes in site
    • External report to local authority. E.g. Fire safety report.
    • Support site for internal reports, e.g. EHS monthly, quarterly and annual reports, etc.

    EHS Training

    • Define site training needs and develop EHS training curriculum base on EHS training needs
    • Preparing and scheduling training to cover emergency preparedness exercise, workplace safety and other relevant safety topics.

    Audit

    • Prepare site for BASF RC audit, ISO14001 and ISO45001 system audit.
    • Consolidate the follow-up status of action items.

    Fire Safety Manager (FSM):

    • Ensure site fire safety provision comply with Fire Safety Act.
    • Prepare and execute the Emergency Response Plan and conduct fire drills.

    People Development

    • Be the competent functional EHS via daily work and learning.

    Safety Leadership

    • Implement EHS activities to improve EHS culture.
    • Plan site inspection for site management
    • Facilitates experience exchange, lessons learned and know-how transfer among production sites.

    Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

    • Bachelor's degree in EHS, Science, Engineering, Production, Chemical or equivalent.
    • Registered Fire Safety Manager (FSM) is a must.
    • Minimum 3 years of prior safety experience in any related industry and knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, regulations, ISO45001 and ISO14001 and industry best practices
    • EHS management system Knowledge (Responsible Care, ISO14001, ISO45001) EHS related regulations and standards.
