    Description

    Job Purpose

    To manage the Thomson East-Coast Line (STEL) Rolling Stock Preventive Maintenance section in carrying out various maintenance activities and catering for resources to support the timely maintenance of rolling stock, with the goal of providing a fleet of safe, reliable and readily available rolling stocks for revenue service.

    Responsibilities

    1. Manage a group of Engineering Maintenance Manager (EMM), Assistant Engineers (AE) and Technical Officers (TO) in carrying out the section's responsibilities in a timely and organized manner.
    2. Lead, monitor, review train maintenance regime to optimize workforce productivity, as well as the reliability and safety of the rolling stock.
    3. Ensure Preventive Maintenance Work are carried out in accordance to the Work Instruction (WI) and / or relevant procedure in the Document Management System.
    4. Allocate, monitor and review resources need to carry out maintenance activities in order to fulfil the Maintenance Compliance Indicator (MCI).
    5. Align staff with company Vision, Mission & Core Values through regular communications & sharing sessions on progress & development of role and plans.
    6. Develop staff to be competent and proficient in their respective areas of work prepare them for career advancement through training and development program.
    7. Represent RS branch in meetings or activities related to Preventive Maintenance.
    8. Carry out additional related responsibilities assigned by the management.

    Qualifications & Work Experience

    1. Preferred Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution with 5 years relevant experience.
    2. Polytechnic diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution with 10 years relevant experience.
    3. Preferably 5 years relevant experience in the railway environment.

    Skills & Competencies

    Technical skills in maintenance, repairing, overhauling and troubleshooting of train system and equipment. Strategic thinker, resourceful, leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Supervisory experience handling a team of Engineering Maintenance Manager (EMM) and Technical Officers.

    Basic computer skills such as MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.
