What the role is

  • The goal of Family Life Group (FLG) is to nurture a familyfriendly society by strengthening family resilience through all stages of life, and to support families to overcome early risks and challenges to family relationships. The Operations Planning & Transformation (OPT) Division is responsible for developing the overall operational plans to strengthen and support family through all stages of life. It also oversees transformation, data and digitalisation, capability development and engagement strategies for FLG.

What you will be working on

  • Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will be part of the Family Data and Analytics (FDA) Branch that oversees the system offering marital and family relationship information, and provide the data governance support and analytics services for FLG. You shall be a key contributor responsible for developing FLG's data analytics capability by partnering divisions to identify use cases, conduct analysis, and provide technical guidance to divisions.

The scope of work includes:

  • Engaging business units to understand their use case and analysis requirements.
  • Performing data processing and exploratory analysis to uncover insights to improve our services.
  • Developing visualisation dashboards or reports for business consumption using data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAS Viya or Python programming.
  • Effectively relate findings to business units and senior management.
  • Developing and implementing initiatives to promote a datadriven culture in FLG.

What we are looking for

  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in data analysis and sensemaking of both structured and unstructured data.
  • Familiar with the suite of government analytics tools, and those of Government Commercial Cloud such as Neptune from AWS or Databricks from Microsoft Azure will be an advantage.
  • Supervisory experience on data analysis.
  • Team player who can engage with key stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to conceptualise quickly, multitask and work under pressure.
