- Analyze, negotiate, and trade Petroleum, Petrochemical, and Other Energy products including General Merchandise in the forward market to manage price risk that arises from the business activity of PTT group and the counterparties of PTT/PTTT as well as finding the opportunities and making profits from Derivatives Trading
- Coordinate with internal parties (different business units of PTT) and external parties such as counterparties of PTT/PTTT, brokers, traders, and other market participants to gather information and work process to analyse and manage price risk effectively to gain maximum benefits and synergy within PTT Group
- Find and identify potential opportunities to increase derivatives trading base for PTT/PTTT such as paper arbitrage trading, on-board potential/new counterparties, and new channels of trading (such as new derivatives instruments and tools)
- Manage and advise both internal and external parties that need hedging services, including advising on which pricing formulas to use given the current market conditions as well as proposing the most effective hedging strategy.
- Construct, manage and run a book of derivatives instruments to maximize profit or minimize loss.
- Ensure risk exposures of the company are within stipulated limits.
- Play an active role in determining the trading strategies that will achieve targets.
- Coordinating with Trading Credit Division to analyze credit risk of counterparties within PTT's policies and to find new opportunities in trading derivatives such as cleared trades on exchange.
- Coordinate with Trading Contracts division and Corporate Legal to negotiate and execute Schedule to ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) Agreements and other related derivatives contracts and agreements (Credit Support Annex, Long form Confirmations, Brokerage agreements, etc.)
- Ensure that all associated operations that related to derivatives trading activities and carbon credit trading are executed smoothly and effectively and comply with rules and regulations.
- Report on a regular basis to Risk Management Committee (RMC) and Trading Risk Management Committee (TRMC)
- Synergize international trading business with mother company to maximize profit to PTT Group
- Using a combination of financial instruments to hedge your positions and spec trading.
- Explore and identify potential opportunity in carbon credit market which related to PTT Group and external parties to construct carbon credit trading portfolio for both voluntary and compliance market including, develop new trading schemes/strategies, on-board potential/new counterparties and expanding market channel.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Sciences, Economics or Business Management.
- Master's degree in engineering, Sciences, Economics or Business
- Over 3 years of experience in oil and gas industry
- At least 2 years overseas/international business management experience can effectively leverage internal networks and has good, detailed knowledge of PTT Group business.
- Proficiency in Thai language as the incumbent needs to work closely with Thai-speaking parties.
- Special knowledge: PTTPLC policy / TBU policy / TBU operation
- Acute business sense and solid experience in overseas/international business management.
- Good in negotiation and coordination with counterparties and related parties.
- Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills.
