Project Engineer, Jurong Island Desalination Plant (JIDP) Business

The role of Project Engineer is to assist the Deputy Manager to manage, plan and oversee the clearing of defects at the Plant and if required, to manage various phases of projects from conceptual and feasibility studies, front-end engineering to project implementation phase comprising detailed engineering, manufacturing, construction, testing and commissioning to achieve the business targets on value engineering, cost optimization and within budget allocation, timely project completion with highest safety standards.

This will include:

• Carrying out defect clearing or project development activities including cost estimation, scheduling and risk assessment;
• Preparing technical specification and tender documents and be involved in contract negotiation;
• Conducting tender evaluation for the award of consultancy and EPC contracts;
• Management of project(s), contract management; and
• Maintain good working relationships and coordination with relevant parties such as consultants, key equipment vendors, contractors for the development and implementation of new projects.

The Project Engineer is to set clear goals and targets which are aligned with the business unit's goals. The Project Engineer will ensure that statutory standards, company policies and procedures are followed, particularly those standards, policies and procedures that relate to personal safety of team members and others.

Job requirements

• Bachelor in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical) or Project Management (or similar)
• Knowledge in Engineering processes
• Preferably 2 years' experience in Project Management or similar field

This position will be based in Jurong Island. Company transport will be provided at Jurong East & Choa Chu Kang.
