Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Work with Beat Editor to ensure a steady pipeline of original content
  • Work with Beat Editor to ensure major diary events in the assigned beat cluster are covered proficiently
  • Network with newsmakers to stay on top of local news developments including breaking scoops
  • Take charge of breaking news events related to the beat cluster, including filing the early deliverables
  • Guide younger reporters in handling assignments and teach them good reporting skills
  • Keep updated and constantly deepen expertise on news and current affairs
  • Ensure stories adhere to free to air production code stipulated by the regulatory authority

Requirements:


  • A selfmotivated, dynamic and resourceful individual
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Enjoys working in a fastpaced work environment
  • Possesses a bachelors' degree with minimum 5 years of editorial experience. Prior supervisory experience is a plus
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral
  • Familiar with key local and geopolitical issues, with sound news sense
  • Prior experience reporting or supervising in at least one of these beats
  • Business, Finance, Manpower, Health, Education and Social
  • Be prepared to work irregular hours and weekends
