General Description:

  • Manage a professional and effective APAC medical writing group to provide excellent writing services to companywide clinical documents.
  • Supervise and manage APAC medical writers' activities to ensure timely deliverable of highquality clinical documents.
  • Create and/or streamline medical writing related processes
  • Manage writingrelated vendors as needed

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Provide leaderships and contributes to overall department development strategies and initiatives, including but not limited to proactively forwardthinking, anticipating future trends in medical writing and making required changes to processes and technology.
  • Strategically develop medical writing functional and crossfunctional interactions that could benefit from medical writing expertise to better meet company needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Coordinator and Head of APAC MW for medical writer resource assignments in line with the corporate R&D strategy.
  • Oversee multiple clinical programs of direct reports in development of documentation roadmap (eg, the prioritization of projects as well as details for particular deliverables, timelines, resources, expected deliverables, review cycles, issue escalation/mitigations as needed) and review the documents generated by direct reports.
  • Participate in crossfunctional team meetings and assist the teams in resolving issuesrelated to document.
  • Guide the team in terms of regulatory requirements, scientific knowledge and document development strategy for regulatory submissions.
  • Guarantee the implementation of the existing processes, identify improvement needs, lead departmental and/or interdepartmental process initiatives/improvements that align with R&D needs.
  • Facilitate the collaboration with departmental and interdepartmental stakeholders, including but not limited to, assignment of resources, process development and mutualbenefit development.
  • Manage the direct reports through hiring, training, expectation, goal setting, performance evaluation, career development, and retention.
  • Develop and improve the direct reports' competency, including writing, project management, communication and other pertaining skills.
  • Participate in the talent development plan in medical writing, including talents identification, competency model and development plan, etc.
  • Initiate and lead the training programs for medical writers.
  • Participate in planning of APAC medical writing budget and resource based on the corporate needs.

Qualification Required:

  • At a minimum of master degree of life science / pharmacy / nursing / medical /health related science or equivalent; PhD/PharmD in life sciences preferred
  • Experience with regulatory requirements for various types of submissions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills must have an ability to work well with others in high pressure situations; a team player.
  • Ability to influence decision makers, promote change, and lead process improvement initiatives; strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral English.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic document management systems.
  • Expertise in multiple therapeutic areas is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical writing
- related process trainings to new hires.

  • Set up regular 1:1 with direct reports to provide technical supports for individual contributors and people management supports for managers.
  • Integrate BeiGene culture into APAC MW growth and development.
  • Provide supports to the team whenever needed.
  • Build up and maintain a good working relationship with crossfunctions to facilitate the individual contributors' collaboration with others.
