    The Front Risk Management Advisory (FRMA) supports the Front, especially the Market "Global NRI" in the management and control of risks throughout the client lifecycle. The FRM Advisory acts as first point of contact for all risk-related questions, provides support tailored to regional and local regulatory requirements as well as business needs, in close collaboration with the Head FRMA (H FRMA), Head FRM Advisory Emerging Markets, other FRMAs and the 2nd Line of Defense (2LoD).

    The FRMA ensures the preparation and presentation of risk reporting and other risk topics to Market Management.

    He/she has a solid reporting line to the Head FRMA Emerging Markets, as well as a dotted reporting line to the Head FRM Asia.

    YOUR CHALLENGE

    Support to Front Management

  • Acts as sparring partner to the Front Management (Market Head, Group Heads and Front Team Heads) in front-risk topics, when requested, related to the whole client/business relationship lifecycle including, but not limited to the following items:Assists with selected cases related to prospects, existing relationships or account openings (e.g. as a result of identified red flags, e.g. adverse media exposure, reputational issues, ESG exposure, complex or opaque structures, sensitive industries, etc.)Assists with selected exception to policy requests (EtP), incl. initiation and review of RTF exception requests (guiding through processes and policies, review of content, coordination with other internal stakeholders where needed). Acts as point of entry for the market and coordinates, mediates between the Front Management and 2LoD
  • Provides risk input to business initiatives/cases or performs client risk assessments for the market
  • Supports the H FRMA and Head FRMA Emerging Markets on thematic and business specific risk reviews
  • Supports/monitors clean-up activities and follow-up on 2LoD or H FRMA risk inputs and monitors remediation/mitigation measures and projects within the Market
  • Front Management Transparency, i.e. Risk Reporting & Risk Sessions

  • Participates and leads the local market risk sessions with regard to risk management topics
  • Identifies awareness/training needs when analyzing the risk report findings, prepares and contributes, to the extent possible, to the content of risk training and awareness campaigns and supports communication to the Front
  • R i s k Framework and Projects

  • Participates and supports in projects carried out within the Market (provide risk related advice, conducts reviews)
  • Ensures that front related issues as identified by 2LoD, internal/external audit and regulators are remediated in a timely and sustainable manner
  • Supports, upon request, Front Management in the elaboration and assessment of Market risk strategies, risks related to business development activities and business cases. Supports the setup, operation, and maintenance of a consistent and effective Front Risk Management framework – in close coordination with the H FRMA, Head FRMA Emerging Markets, and CRO functions. This includes multiple aspects, specifically related to front related risk governance, policy standards, controls, training and reporting
  • Supports the Market Head in building up and maintaining an adequate 1LoD risk governance for the Market
  • Controls & Monitoring

  • Follows-up with Front Office on overdue items or escalation of 1LoD recurring tasks and controls, manages incidents and remediation measures/projects
  • Escalates to Front Management in line with the control descriptions where applicable
  • Enables supervisory roles to initiate appropriate measures together with stakeholders in case of negative control results (if deemed appropriate), defines and monitors risk mitigating measures
  • Interaction with Stakeholders

  • Ensures close and systematic collaboration/information flow between the 1LoD and the 2LoD. Close collaboration with the Market Business Management team is a key aspect with respect to the delineation of roles and transparency on tasks
  • Coordinates closely with other FRM teams and interacts closely with various internal stakeholders (e.g. Compliance, Legal, IWMS, Internal Controlling), depending on the topic
  • YOUR PROFILE

  • University degree or equivalent education in Banking, Compliance, Law, Risk Management or Business Administration
  • At least 5-7 years of professional experience in Front Risk Management, Business Support, Compliance, Legal or Audit
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, as well as a high level of flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the Indian Market, both onshore and Global NRI, would be a significant plus
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to work on own initiative, willing to take on responsibility
  • Ability to oversee complexity and to work under high pressure
  • Professional and convincing communication skills with stakeholders in various roles and functions
  • Decisive, well organized, proactive and act with care and assertiveness
