Description

Responsibilities :

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Immunology bench.

Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner.

Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department.

Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate staffing coverage.

Responsible for hiring, coaching, and performing the performance evaluation for staff.

Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary.

Lead cross-site harmonization efforts.

Engage in continuous process and service level improvements.

Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control.

Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents.

Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations.

Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development.

Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations.

Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures.

Perform administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science or biological science

Minimum 6 years of laboratory experience plus 4 years supervisory or management experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

Candidate with strong immunoassay and clinical chemistry experience is a plus.

Experience working in a fast-paced lab-environment.

Knowledge of quality assurance practices and procedures.

Strong knowledge of CAP, ISO15189 accreditation and HCSA regulations.

Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

Proven ability to problem solve/troubleshoot and provide solutions under minimal supervision

High level of attention to detail with strong organization skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment.

Work shift: Monday – Friday/Tuesday - Saturday.
