Outside the operating businesses, Weybourne manages an investment portfolio and provides financial and other professional support to the Dyson Family, their estates, and personal business interests.

Overview - Role and Department:


The Insurance department are currently looking for an experienced Insurance Manager to join the newly formed team led by the Head of Insurance.

You will work with the team to achieve the highest standards of strategic insurance risk financing for the Group.

The Insurance department looks after the Group's insurance programs and the family's personal insurance arrangements.

The team provides support in all insurance matters to the Group's businesses, including Dyson Farming and Dyson technology company, by working collaboratively with their respective finance and insurance teams.


The team also has responsibility over the management and strategic utilisation of the Group's captive insurance vehicle, Alpinia Insurance Pte Ltd.


Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Captive Insurance Strategy: Support the Head of Insurance in developing and executing the Group's captive insurance strategy, working closing with the various Weybourne Group entities to deliver the agreed strategic plan.

Insurance Program Management: Develop and implement Weybourne's insurance program, including property and casualty, general liability, director's and officer's liability, family's personal insurances, and other relevant coverage. Evaluate insurance requirements, negotiate contracts with insurance providers, and ensure appropriate coverage for the company's assets, operations, and liabilities.

Claims Management: Oversee the management of insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate claim submission, processing, and settlement. Collaborate with internal teams and insurance providers to investigate claims, negotiate settlements, and minimize financial losses

Governance: Develop and fine tune governance procedures to enhance the captive operations, including claims management, underwriting management, financial and regulatory reporting.

Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with insurance brokers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders across Weybourne Group, including the Dyson risk and insurance team. Stay informed about market trends, emerging risks, and insurance products to make informed decisions about the company's insurance program.

Insurance Training and Education: Provide insurance-related training and education to employees across the organization. Promote awareness of insurance-related risks and best practices, fostering a culture of risk management and insurance understanding

  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships across the company and other family office entities.
  • Commitment to developing yourself within your role undergoing training where necessary.
  • Proactively promoting and maintaining high standards work taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that don't meet required standards or any issues that arise.

  • Any other ad hoc duties.

Requirements:


Skills Knowledge & Experience:


  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Risk Management.
  • Professional certification in risk and insurance is a plus.
  • Applicants should have a proven track record in a similar role typically acquired over several years within managing insurance programmes, risk management, and/or consulting in the insurance space.
  • Good and broad technical knowledge of insurance concepts (general insurance, employee benefits, captive etc).
