Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive is currently searching for an experienced corporate/ commercial contracts lawyer to join our client, an energy trading company, in Singapore.

This is assignment is to cover a period of maternity leave and is expected to run for ~5 months from mid-April 2024.The consultant will be covering the sole Regional Counsel for APAC - some of their work will transfer to the legal team in London and so this is expected to be a part time role to cover BAU work, and will chiefly focus on commercial contracts.

Commodities experience highly desirable as there may be some advisory work relating to trade finance.


Person specification:
You are a common law qualified Solicitor with training from a top tier law firm.

You have excellent English language skills required (spoken and written).You have at a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience if Singapore qualified (equivalent to a minimum of 8 years PQE if qualified in the UK/ other common law jurisdiction).You can work autonomously but can also collaborate effectively as part of the wider team.

You have excellent communication and time management skills.
