  • 1.0 OVERVIEW
The position of Gaming QA Project Manager is a key one at TransPerfect Translations. Gaming QA Project Managers will provide client support on challenging test problems in a dynamic and exciting environment.

Gaming QA Project Managers will be responsible for managing and delivering Gaming QA projects, including responsibility for administration, schedule, budgets and client communications.

Gaming QA Project Managers are able to break down a game title into testable areas, write a test plan that covers the game from inception through ship and beyond.

Gaming QA Project Managers will assign feature areas to Gaming QA Leads to break into test cases that they will review and sign off on.

Gaming QA Project Managers will coordinate and run test passes, gather information, and report regularly to our clients, going above and beyond to make sure they are happy with our services.

  • 2.0 DESCRIPTION
  • Own the testing efforts for a title endtoend.
  • Manage and lead a team of testers with a constant push to become more effective at testing, increase the team's knowledge, skillset, and coverage.
  • Do an Area Breakdown of a game, assign Area Ownership, and create Test Plans
  • Make sure that new games are compatible with a matrix of all supported device types.
  • Write, triage, and regress bugs. Run and completely own the bug triage process.
  • Run daily Build Verification Tests on new builds as needed.
  • Put together detailed and timely reports on the status of the game throughout the project.
  • Put together bug trends, burn down charts, and Go/No Go metrics and be able to present to clients, proving the game is market ready in time for launch.
  • Assure new game releases and updates go smoothly with few unplanned major issues and provide a quick reactive plan should things not go as anticipated.
  • Work directly with Customer Service to investigate, fix, and address customer concerns.
  • Participate in Daily Standup, Team Meetings, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Retrospectives
  • Work effectively with Leads from Engineering, Art, Design, Product Management, and Production
  • Help to educate other team members and disciplines on the bug writing and bug lifecycle process.
  • Coordinate and run team or company bug bashes. Make sure issues found by others are logged and tracked.
  • Able to take on or coordinate areas like Certification, Accessibility, Global Age Ratings, or Gameplay Feedback and Balance testing.
  • Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisor.
  • 3.0 REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of personality types and get objectives met.
  • Ability to partner with Engineering and Production to thoroughly understand features, timelines, and expectations, ensuring the best quality support.
  • Act as an effective advocate for our clients
  • Be the goto person for knowing the current quality of the game, setting up bug queries, and understanding how bug databases work.
  • Ability to proactively identify and call out risk and difficulttovalidate areas of the game, suggesting alternative approaches to creatively test and ensure coverage.
  • Ability to write nightly test status, test pass status, and other regular reports.
  • 4.0 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or direct relevant experience
  • 5.0 DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with Unity and Unreal game engines is a plus.
