Description
Job Description- An entry paraprofessional typically requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience
- Work is routine or follows standard procedures
- Work is closely supervised
Duties include:
- Ensuring staffs receiving, counting and recording of incoming mail items and/or hand-delivered items (eg. registered articles, courier items, etc.)
- Checking of staff perform counter duties, which include receipt of items/documents from couriers and attend to counter enquiries from customers and members of public
- Ensure and assist in sorting of mail items for distribution
- Ensuring collection and distribution (on foot or by vehicle) of mail items from/to designated work areas according to specified schedules
Ensuring and assisting processing of outgoing mail items:
Weighing and franking
Preparation of forms, posting dockets, consignment notes, etc.
Recording
Bagging and labeling
Lodging of processed mail at the post office for mailing
Checking of processing of outgoing courier items:
Checking of Consignments Notes
Arranging for pickup of items by appointed courier, if needed
- Checking of ad-hoc dispatch of mail items
- Checking & Tracing of ambiguous mail items and updating of staff listings
Assist and perform other administrative duties, which include:
Issuance of stationery items to staff members
Answer mailroom-related telephone enquiries
- Compile and submit daily / monthly statistics (computer knowledge on MS Words and MS Excel is required)
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Area Manager from time to time
