- Oversee multiple projects within your area of expertise, varying in scale and complexity, which includes supervising junior scientists in Project Development/Validation/Characterization tasks, encompassing experimental design, planning, supervision, and execution of studies.
- Effectively manage your time and prioritize laboratory work for both yourself and project teams with minimal guidance from superiors to achieve project objectives.
- Engage in practical lab work within the purification process development team, contributing to or leading the development of processes suitable for technology transfer to cGMP manufacturing teams.
- Conduct purification activities such as Chromatography (Affinity, Mixed-mode, ion exchange) utilizing the AKTA purification system, Ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and viral reduction strategies.
- Lead Process Development involving the purification of monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins, bispecifics, and/or complex proteins.
- Undertake Process Characterization tasks, including Risk Assessment (FMEA), utilizing DoE methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation to define process parameter ranges and steps.
- Create and review high-quality technical documents including Protocols, reports, SOPs, among others.
- Record results in compliance with Lonza policies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) as applicable.
- Act as the Study Director and/or project representative, ensuring effective communication to deliver an exceptional customer experience (written correspondence, teleconferences, face-to-face meetings).
- Function as an integral part of both the local and global project team, overseeing multiple projects and ensuring the timely completion of project milestones.
- Provide general lab support encompassing maintenance, inventory management, and actively contributing to operational efficiency enhancements.
- Troubleshoot equipment and scientific challenges as they arise.
- Train new scientists, junior staff, and peers on existing or new technologies as needed.
- Perform any other duties as directed by management.
- Degree/PhD in a relevant Science field or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years' practical experience in the relevant field or PhD with 2 years postdoctoral/ 3 years of industrial experience.
- The eventual role offered will align with the candidate's experience.
- Proficiency with requisite years of experience in protein purification process development.
- Experience in Process Characterization/Validation, involving the application of statistical software for experimental design and data analysis, will be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with cGMP regulations will be beneficial.

The individual selected for this role will become a part of the Purification Development team within Development Services at Lonza, Singapore. As a Senior/Lead Scientist, you'll have the opportunity to broaden and refine your technical and scientific skills, while also honing your leadership abilities.
