    General Description

    Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) in Bank of Singapore ("BOS") provides investment management service to:


    • high-net-worth clients who have delegated their investment decisions; and
    • fund managers when appointed as the portfolio or sub-fund manager

    Teams within DPM includes:

    • DPM Investment Management
    • DPM Portfolio Implementation
    • DPM Product and Portfolio Management

    Portfolio Implementation team provides support to the DPM Investment Management teams in the area of account administration, portfolio reports and trade-related duties, including assisting with the order generation, managing currency balances and FX transactions and adding operational control to the derivatives process.


    Main Duties

    Portfolio Implementation conducts the following activities:

    1. Trade-related Support for Fund Management Activities


    • Pre-trade: Providing administrative support to portfolio managers including order preparation and pre-trade checks ( across approved asset classes and securities)
    o Approved asset classes and securities include: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, hedge funds and liquid alternatives, private equity funds, private credit funds and real estate funds, FX, Commodities, derivatives and structured deposits


    • Provide cash management and perform Portfolio FX hedging by managing currency balances and FX transactions for funding of trades, which include placing FX orders for execution through Dealing Desk
    • Resolve trade-related issues with stakeholders such as Operations, Finance and Compliance
    • Liaison for overseas locations in terms of portfolio management support (e.g. BOS WME, BOS WMY, BOS HK)
    • End User Computing maintenance of Excel Spreadsheets used by the team
    2. Account Maintenance


    • Administrative duties for new accounts such as mandate profile forms, updating & preparing customised mandates.
    • Maintenance of accounts including corporate actions, fees, reconciliation of positions for external customised accounts.
    • Administrative duties for LOI management
    o Partial Liquidation

    o Account Closure (Full Liquidation or Transferring of securities)

    3. Internal Enquiry Management & Support


    • Manage account-related enquiries from Front Office, liaising with Portfolio Managers to ensure timely response.
    • Liaise, resolve issues, and represent DPM with other departments, including information systems and operations.
    4. DPM Service Support


    • Prepare and update all proposals & client review decks.
    5. Other General Responsibilities such as audit/compliance queries, process documentation, BCP activities, adherence to RCSA & RRSA, etc. Subject matter experts for DPM process in bank-wide projects.

    Qualifications

    Work Experience Requirements


    • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience at private bank, asset management or fund house.
    • Strong computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Excel (include macros, pivot tables etc), Word and Power Point
    • Digital and data skills, knowledge of Bloomberg applications is an added advantage.
    • Familiarity with portfolio management tools (e.g. TAP) an advantage.
    • Team player with initiative. Accuracy and attention to details.
    Candidates will be required to be knowledgeable about portfolio management and trading guidelines, regulations, procedures and processes .
