    Job Description:

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our construction company. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance, project management, and contract administration within the construction industry. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading various aspects of our operations including project management, corporate governance, vendor management, and compliance with ISO certifications.

    Responsibilities:

    • Reporting to the CEO/ Director
    • Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's operations, ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards and industry regulations.
    • Monitor project status and project financial performance, including cash flow management and budget adherence.
    • Ensure commercial aspects of the projects are well managed and financial targets are achieved
    • Oversee the project teams to ensure timely delivery based on key dates in the project and within resources allocated, in compliance with contractual and legal requirements
    • Conduct monthly project meetings with clients with the respective project teams to discuss progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
    • Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including evaluation and selection, to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
    • Lead the tender committee, including the review and evaluation of new project tender and contracts, both in Singapore and overseas.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO certifications and standards, overseeing the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems.
    • Supervise inventory control processes to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
    • Supervise the fleet management of the company vehicles.
    • Work closely with internal/external stakeholders, clients, consultants and value chain partners
    • Manage plant and machinery assets, including maintenance schedules and procurement as needed.
    • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, from a recognised university.
    • Proven experience in a top managerial role within the construction industry (minimum 10 years), with a strong understanding of corporate governance and project management principles.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated experience in contract management, tender evaluation, and negotiation.
    • Knowledge of ISO certifications and quality management systems preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage
