Primary Job Purpose


Responsible for handling and executing commercial trade activities as per assigned territory or product category, monitoring portfolio positions and market conditions.

He/She identifies opportunities both locally and regionally that could enhance portfolio positions.

He/she is expected to maintain and enhance business relationships with partners and is familiar with the commodity market that facilitates portfolio optimization and effective trading activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new opportunities aligned to business strategy in building a profitable business portfolio in local and regional markets.
  • Engage in initial business development with global producers, suppliers, and clients.
  • Supplier evaluation based on pricing strategies.
  • Managing relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners for key accounts
  • Planning and executing actual trade deals.
  • Coordinating with Fulfillment and Trade Operations teams for deal execution.
  • Preparing deal economics for deal sheet submissions and price proposals for approval and subsequent tender submission.
  • Supporting stakeholders and clients on inquiries including chartering and shipping related operation.
  • Inform the team of market sentiments and major market drivers.

Requirements:


  • A recognized university degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in trading commodities, preferably in petrochemicals.
  • Demonstrated capability to independently handle and execute bulk sales of commodities in international markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in developing trading strategies and managing complex trade agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills with deep understanding of economic and market trends to analyze opportunities and optimize trading decisions.
  • Experienced in maintaining robust relationships with buyers, brokers, charterers and other trading counterparts.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to manage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels.
