    Category Manager (Beauty)

    About this role:

    This is a newly created role within our Novela team to help drive the continued growth of our business.

    As a Retail Buyer for Beauty Products, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, analyzing market trends, and ensuring the availability of high-quality beauty products at competitive prices. Your efforts will contribute to driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction within the beauty product category.

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers/vendors of beauty products, ensuring they meet quality standards, pricing requirements, and delivery timelines.
    • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
    • Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
    • Monitor market trends, including pricing, product innovations, and consumer demands, to stay informed about industry developments and make informed buying decisions.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as marketing, sales, and operations teams, to understand their requirements and ensure the availability of a diverse and appealing assortment of beauty products.
    • Conduct regular analysis of category performance, including sales data, product performance, and customer feedback, to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns to drive sales and enhance the visibility of beauty products.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to beauty products, ensuring all purchased items meet legal and safety standards.
    • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and pricing information.

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma or Degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Retail buyer in the beauty industry, preferably within a retail or e-commerce environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of beauty product trends, market dynamics, and industry best practices.
    • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
    • Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
    • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards for beauty products.
    • A passion for the beauty industry and staying up to date with the latest trends and innovations.
