Purpose and Scope:


The purpose of this role is to carry out testing, commissioning, and maintenance related to marine propulsion systems, power generation systems, and deck machinery.

The scope includes hands-on fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, mechanical repairs, and site execution of commissioning activities.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Carry out testing and commissioning of marine propulsion systems, power generation systems, and deck machinery.
  • Perform handson fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and maintenance of marine systems/components.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, including electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs, installations, and removals as required.
  • Travel on short notice and onboard vessels for site execution of commissioning activities.
  • Manage precommissioning, commissioning, and function testing of switchboards, motors, transformers, and starter panels.
  • Conduct isolations/deisolations on HV/LV switchboards and panels.
  • Liaise with vendors for assistance in precommissioning and commissioning scope of work.
  • Troubleshoot faults arising during commissioning tests and complete commissioning documentation.
  • Attend site acceptance tests, permit to work meetings, and maintain documentation onsite.
  • Provide technical support to the construction team and review engineering designs and calculations for compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Minimum Nitec/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the Marine industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Indepth knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, etc.
  • Proficiency in computeraided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards related to electrical systems.
  • Sound knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate


Salary:
$2, $10,000.00 per month
