Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct origin and cause investigation and provide technical advice to clients.
- Conduct investigation and evaluation on incidents in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Responsible for writing reports and providing updates to clients within required time periods in accordance with company guidelines.
- Conduct detailed research in relation to casework of self and of others.
- Peer review reports of other Senior investigators and Principal investigator.
- Provide expert testimony for litigation matters when necessary.
- Participate in afterhours marketing activities occasionally including overseas events.
- May require travelling in Asia Pacific regions at short notice to conduct onsite investigations.
- May require working on weekends/holidays including rapid, short notice response.
- Will require occasional flexible working with long continuous daily site attendance and report writing.
- Provide inhouse training and presentations at marketing events including industry conferences.
- Attend appropriate inhouse and external training events as appropriate.
- Be willing to accept training and undertake duties in other skills commensurate with the growth of AMA services generally.
- Provide training as requested commensurate with the growth of AMA services generally.
- Mentor and monitor Fire Investigators and Trainee Fire Investigators.
- Develop and contribute to industry related social media including the writing of professional and technical articles.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
- Frequently required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
Qualification and Experience:
- Degree or reasonable equivalent in fire investigation or related discipline(s) is required.
- A minimum of ten years' experience in fire service (including command and investigation) or in a related safety or major industry field in an investigative capacity.
- Must have given testimony as an expert witness or possess formal, suitable qualification.
- Experience and knowledge in code or regulation compliance.
- Full driving license.
- Previous experience in marine industry is an advantage.
- Previous experience and formal qualification in law is an advantage.
- Previous experience in court testimony is an advantage.
- Previous experience in dispute management is an advantage.
- Previous experience in writing of policy/procedure or training is an advantage
