In this role, you will join the Finance & Accounting department that is responsible for providing finance support specifically involved in regulatory reporting, accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting to internal and/or external stakeholders.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Assist in month end regulatory reporting, including month end reconciliation of TB and schedules.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation and profit & loss reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Handle intercompany reconciliation and settlement.
  • Assist in the preparation/ review of quarterly working files for MAS reporting.
  • Review quarterly MAS returns prepared by team member to ensure accuracy in submissions.
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports for management's presentation.
  • Manage all filing deadlines and ensure compliance to reporting standards, for both group reporting and local reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure audit deliverables are produced and issued on a timely manner.
  • Involved in the quarterly and annual closing process by assisting to review the local regulatory forms and prepare group reporting deliverables and other regulatory forms.
  • Manage the requests and queries from internal and external stakeholders (i.e., group finance, operations, actuarial, external auditors, consultant)
You will report to Specialist, Finance Reporting and Accounting.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Degree in Accountancy &/or recognized accounting qualification ACCA/CPA/CIMA.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of working experience (at least 1 years of experience in similar capacity in the General Insurance/ Reinsurance industry).
  • Ideally internal / external audit experience with a strong focus in the insurance market and basic knowledge of MAS Risk Based Capital (RBC) Framework.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and under own initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data entry or data outputs
  • Able to organise self (and others if applicable) including effective scheduling, prioritisation and time management skills, completing tasks to tight deadlines. Demonstrates a 'can do' attitude
  • Comfortable taking ownership for own work, identifying the need for action (using initiative) whilst working effectively within a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point
