    Description

    Job Purpose

    Noble Resources is a privately-owned Singapore based commodity trader, focussed on globally sourced energy and metals, sold primarily to Asian customers. We are focused on high standards of governance and risk management and have established risk management committees at the management and Board level. We believe that risk management is fundamental to delivering value to our customers, suppliers and investors.

    The credit risk analyst will work with various back office and front office teams under the guidance of the CRO to analyse data and produce risk analysis and reports initially focused on our rapidly growing Indonesian trading business, with opportunity to later expand into other areas of the business. The analyst will suit someone who is highly numerate that is looking for an opportunity to grow their risk and analytical expertise and gain exposure to senior management in an international trading firm.

    Responsibilities

    • Collect and verify information related to credit requests, conducting site visits when required
    • Review, analyse and assess counterparty's credit worthiness through analysis of their financial positions, regulatory filings, business track record, credit ratings and external factors using both quantitative and qualitative information.
    • Communicate regularly with counterparties to detect and understand any issues they may encounter.
    • Monitor news, credit events impacting portfolio of counterparties.
    • Provide regular updates / reports of credit exposures
    • Review and update credit risk assessment process, model and report to ensure it is aligned to our risk exposure.
    • Support system and projects relating to risk management.
    • Maintain a close liaison with all key internal stakeholders

    Education and Qualifications

    • University graduate or equivalent. Ideally with qualifications in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or similar

    Experience

    • 3 - 5 years of relevant credit risk / finance experience in a physical commodities organization, with product exposure to Indonesian onshore Oil & Gas business

    Skills

    • Able to speak, read and write in Bahasa Indonesia at a business level, as this role will be required to liaise with clients and handle business documents in Bahasa Indonesia
    • Confident English language communicator
    • Able to work accurately with lots of data under pressure and to deadlines
    • Intellectually curious and passionate problem solver
    • Proactive attitude and can work independently
    • Strong analytical and communication skills
    • Proficient in MS Office, such as MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
