Description

The Assistant Operation Manager has the ultimate responsibility and accountability for the safe, efficient and cost-effective performance of project assigned.

He/She advises and updates the project Director on the project's operations and monitors the budget and expenditure of the project closely.

He/She also manages the project's maintenance to ensure its effectiveness and continued compliance to regulatory requirements.


The Assistant Operation Manager monitors adherence to the organisation's risk management procedures and develops a framework to manage risk in the organisation, and oversees the implementation of workflow improvements that may enhance subcontractors' and clients' satisfaction.

The Assistant Operation Manager closes out all vetting, audit and investigation observations to prevent recurrences.

He/She has a good understanding of the operational matters and possesses good analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision making skills.


Furthermore, to lead, support, mentor, and coach other dedicated, skilled engineers, planners, architects, or other technical staff from both project and team perspectives.

Assistant Operation Manager is responsible for designs and serve as a senior advisor and practice leader within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan all technical aspects of the programme and projects, working with the clients and designers, to assist in the formation of a design strategy, ensuring that this is adhered to, supported by a plan for stage involving the wider team.
  • Guide other PM's and Assistant PM's in the budget and schedule management of the technical aspects of projects.
  • Be responsible to the PDM for delivering and coordinating all technical aspects of the project in accordance with the plan and budget.
  • Work with the company director to agree technical resource required, forecast and manage resource costs throughout the project.
  • Communicate with other PM's and Assistant PM's regularly and proactively about project and technical details; communicate any significant technical challenge, deviation from procedures and metrics, or incidents that occurs on projects.
  • Ensure that any and all external design works are undertaken by suitably qualified and experienced teams which are provided with clearly defined scope culminating in agreed costs and timescales.
  • Attend tender meetings and, where needed, chair design meetings.
  • Fiscal responsibility for the associated technical portions of a project.
  • Work with other teams to share resources (or formulate a resource management sentence) Lead technical aspects of project meetings.
  • Assist in communications with clients and major contractors.

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar role in the field of renovation and reinstatement project.
  • Able to work beyond working hours in case of any project need,
  • Previous experience in design works.
  • Must have the full knowledge and experiences in Singapore authority submissions for new projects.
  • Selfmotivated, engaged, and teamoriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Understand planning and/or design concepts and methods and challenge convention for the benefit of the department.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to mentor and lead technical staff.
  • Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward thinking.
  • 5+ years of experience in the civil and construction field of expertise and 3+ years of experience in leading teams.
  • Good team worker but able to exercise own judgement and able to work independently and make decisions.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to collaborate and integrate into a wide team.
  • Ability to take responsibility and ownership.
  • Excellent prioritization and planning skills.
  • Ability to challenge.

Necessary professional qualifications

  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
