About the job:
This position is needed to build a highly scalable, reliable, and efficient data platform that makes it easy for users to get deep insights from vast amounts of distributed data.
This role will be responsible for driving key technical decisions to completion for the organization and also guiding other engineers.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you'll:
- Design, code, and debug software.
- Provide technical guidance in software design and development activities.
- Supervising and overseeing all the technical aspects of projects.
- Work with other Engineers in planning, prioritizing and executing assigned tasks within deadlines.
- Be the gatekeeper to ensure high quality and bug free code is always deployed to production.
- Investigating softwarerelated complaints and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal software performance.
- Attend team meetings to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas, and put forward solutions to any issues.
- Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities.
- Provide training and mentor other Engineers.
- Recommend new technologies to ensure quality and productivity.
- Work closely with other technical teams, Chief Architect and Product management to strategize and productionize new technical initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering
- Experience in build data platforms using Hadoop, Apache Spark, Kafka, etc.
- Strong Database internals knowledge (Key/value stores, B+ trees, Merge-Trees, etc)
- 5+ Experience using C / C++ and Rust
