General Description of the Role


The Regional Innovation Manager drives the execution of Innovation & Renovation process within the Region, supporting Innovation Business Leaders in bringing to life new ideas coordinating all the Functions involved in the Innovation Process.


Mission/Objectives


Manage the pipeline of innovation, renovation and fast-track projects in the Region, to ensure best time-to-market and resources allocation (internal resouces, effort, cost and investment) as well as consistency with consumer brief, providing visibility on Innovation pipeline to Markets and Supply Chain Functions.

Owns Regional Springboard execution, defining agenda, preparing pre-reads together with Innovation Business Leaders, moderating the meeting and sharing minutes.

Supervise and coordinate Innovations Projects Managers in the Region.


Key Responsibilities and Activities

Project Portfolio Management:


  • Plans Innovation Project Managers effort allocation among the project portfolio, according to the agreed priority level and oversees projects development and execution;
  • Anticipates potential issues across projects (e.g. resources overload) and, when necessary, escalates them to the appropriate Function;
  • Ensures the implementation of innovation & renovation processes in the Region according to Global standards (e.g. monthly KPIs, data completeness, key deliverables for each gate, process governance);
  • Drive performance management culture, owning time to first market KPI in the Region;
  • Coordinates with Regional Engineering to define Innovation CAPEX budget, monitor budget adherence on a quarterly basis and provide required reporting to Global Engineering and Global PLM;
  • Supports Regional S&OP process providing updates on innovation and renovation pipeline.

Regional Springboard Accountability:


  • Drives Regional Springboard: schedule Regional Springboards, define agenda, ensure the timely and exhaustive preparation of prereads, moderate Springboard meeting, send minutes, ensure that decision taken are promptly shared with key stakeholders (internal and external) and highlight any Supply Chain related risk and possible mitigation actions to SC gatekeeper;
  • Play an active role in Regional Gatekeepers/ Stakeholders engagement, acting as business partner for any Innovation related topic.

Project Management:


  • Supports Innovation Business Leader in the overall project development throughout all the stages, from idea evaluation to postlaunch;
  • Facilitates Idea screening: facilitate scoping with Business Leader, assess supply chain impacts and risks, challenge Business Leaders on assessment grid scoring and provide recommendation to Gatekeepers;
  • Defines project team and masterplan: identify required resources, draft project risk assessment and related mitigation plan, define project timeline and constantly monitor it in coordination with Business Leader;
  • Coordinates project execution: check the timely execution of project activities, managing performance gaps and ensuring a prompt escalation of issues when needed, according to innovation process governance

In particular:

  • Coordinate with packaging Team for all packaging development activities, ensuring final artwork approval (with Legal and Regulatory);
  • Oversee liquid development, checking that regulatory compliance is ensured for Countries in scope;
  • Brief masterdata Team on the Project, ensuring that new codes creation is timely scheduled and executed;
  • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure Suppliers involvement and cost estimation;
  • Coordinate with Engineering to define CAPEX timeline and estimation, line trials, etc.;
  • Coordinate with Planning to define production plans (including Phase In Phase Out plan) and writeoff estimation;
  • Coordinate with SC Finance to prepare COGS estimation;
  • Coordinate with other Functions if specifically required by project plan.
  • Ensures constant alignment with Innovation Business Leader on project status and risks, getting insights on launch plans and volumes updates from Business Leader and ensuring that BL is updating markets in scope on project status;
