Regulatory Relationship
- Solid knowledge of MAS regulations.
- Maintain sound communication and good relationship with regulator, and close liaison with local regulator for regulatory and AML/CFT compliance matters.
- Ensure branch compliance heads maintain
- Ensure staff actively monitor regulatory developments, trends in the market, sanctions regulations etc and develop or update policies and procedures to ensure adherence and compliance with the laws and regulations
Policy and Process Development
- Provide advice in the development and implementation of policy, governance and regulatory standards and frameworks.
- As the major contact person with HO and local stakeholders for compliance P&P approval
Control Framework
- Supervise teams in the review of suspicious bank transactions, high risk CDD, Safe Watch, FCCM system alerts to ensure all alert areas are functioning effectively, segregation of duties is being implemented and take corrective measures as required.
- Perform quality assurance over key compliance activities.
Compliance Training
- Provide training and coaching to staff on regulatory requirements, AML/CFT/Sanctions/PF and CRS/FATCA etc
- Ensure teams provide regular training to branch staff and endeavor to embed Compliance culture within the organization.
Governance
- Ensure management and HO are informed of compliance initiatives, known compliance deficiencies, suspicious transaction reports filed and corrective action taken, to ensure optimum Compliance standards are being followed in the bank. HOK BCNC shall be kept informed via regular reporting to International Compliance (IC).
- Conduct Compliance Committee of Management meetings at least once a quarter, and provide minutes to IC.
- Ensure prompt and accurate compliance relevant regulatory reporting submissions to MAS
- To guide whole branch in FATCA/CRS and ensure timely reporting to IRAS
Compliance Risk
- Provide training and coaching to staff on regulatory requirements, AML/CFT/Sanctions/PF and CRS/FATCA etc
- Ensure teams provide regular training to branch staff and endeavor to embed Compliance culture within the organization.
Leadership & People Management
- Provide guidance in setting of individual objectives, provide coaching, guidance, counseling in need, review performance, career development and training needs of staff, endeavor to keep staff motivated and challenged.
- Ensure grooming of a successor.
